BIOGRAPHY “Os Ganhões de Castro Verde” First date of creation of the choir "Os Ganhões" from Castro Verde. The choir has been active since then with only two moments of break. 1975 Release of the LP "Castro Verde é Nossa Terra" 1980 The choir wins the 1st prize at the contest of Choirs from Alentejo at Casa do Alentejo in Lisbon. Release of the LP "Ganhões de Castro Verde" 1994 Release of the CD "Modas Alentejanas", considered by the critics as the best Ethnic Music record. Participation in the International Folk Music Festival in Vancouver (Canada) 1995 Participation in the project "Pace et Salute", a tribute to Michel Giacommetti, together with other choirs from Alentejo and polyphonic singers from Corsica. 1995 Creation of the Associação de Cante Alentejano "Os Ganhões" 1997 Release of the CD "É Tão Grande o Alentejo" 2000 Participation in Dulce Pontes' album "Primeiro Canto" Participation in Dulce Pontes' Tour "Primeiro Canto" 2001 Participation in the world music festival Glatt und Verkehrt in Krems (Austria), in the evening dedicated to Portugal alongside Madredeus. 2002 Participation in the European Music Festival in Santa Maria da Feira. 2003 Release of the CD "O Círculo que Leva a Lua" Every year the choir performs several times throughout Portugal in festivals and other events. |
